Football Mad Soccer School has been formed with a view to improve the technique and skills of children playing Association Football and to serve as a motivation for children to look forward to playing sport. A secondary benefit of the children partaking of the soccer school is that they will improve their mobility and fitness through the use of the Speed, Agility and Quickness (SAQ) routines that will be used by the coaches as part of their sessions.
Children only play the game of Association Football from the end of March through until the end of August. It is the intention of the soccer school to fill the gap from October to December and from January to March, and then to return the children back to their winter clubs better prepared.
Football Mad Soccer School is dedicated to the motivation and participation of all children in the game of Association Football.
The children will be split up according to age, and, if sufficient numbers, by ability. The ratio of coach to child will be 1-15 maximum. Each group will work to a set curriculum with assessments taking place at the end of each section of the curriculum. These assessments will be collated and each child presented with a certificate at the end of the course.
Only qualified and experienced coaches will head up each group. However as part of our commitment to ongoing coach education, inexperienced coaches will be used under the supervision of the main coach. The intention is to encourage these inexperienced coaches to gain the right experience and to further their coaching qualifications. We are always on the look out for coaches - if you feel you have the right qualities and want to get involved, then give us a call.
The soccer school is intending to operate each weekday evening commencing at 3.30pm and concluding no later than 6.30pm. Boys and girls will be coached together in age groups on two separate evenings a week and a specialist goalkeeping clinic will operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week. The soccer school will also operate during school holidays as separate programmes to the after school activity.
